For all you NRV locals: The Jugbusters have been nominated for “Best Local Band” in this year’s Collegiate Times “Best of Blacksburg” poll.  Cruise on over to the site, and cast a vote for us!

Just want to take a minute to remind y’all that in addition to our usual Cellar gig on Thursday, the Jugbusters will be playing at Newport Fest this Saturday.  If you haven’t been to Newport Fest, this would be a great year to check it out.  The fest has been expanded to two days this year.  The Jugbusters hit the stage at 7pm on Saturday, but there are two full days of great bands to check out.

And for the cavers, we’ll be at OTR again this year for the Sunday river party.  If you know, you know, and if you don’t, you don’t.  More wine!

We also hit the Floyd Country Store again on Friday, September 11.  We’re giving you as many reasons to dance as we can, people.  Don’t pass it up!

As a reminder to everyone, we’re playing at Floydfest this weekend: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  We’ll be sharing the dance stage with great bands like The Whitetop Mountain Band and the Dry Hill Draggers.  We’d love to see some of our regulars come out and show the Floyd-festers how it’s done.

We’ve also got the Schedule page updated with our August and September dates.  Among the usual Cellar and Floyd Country Store gigs, we’re also appearing at Newport Fest and the West Virginia Old Timer’s Reunion.

Summer is half over.  Have you been out dancing yet?

For those of you not already in the loop: the Jugbusters will be appearing all three days at Floydfest 8: Revival.  We’ll be part of the Old Time Dance Revival, and we need YOU.  We need you to show up, we need you to have fun, we need you to do all of the flatfooting and two stepping that you can do in three days.  Floydfest never fails to be a good time for pretty much everybody, and we’d love for all of our regulars to join us in our first trip there.

Jugbusters will be at the Newport Jamboree happening this Saturday, May 16th at the Newport Rec. Center from 6-9pm. All ages are encouraged and welcome, $5 donation for adults. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Newport Volunteer Fire Dept. The show will feature The Jugbusters and Mountain Legend Express and we are hoping the weather cooperates so we can host the event outdoors.

Also, tune into WNRV (990 am, The Ridge) from 3-4pm to hear Bill Richardson playing the fiddle and promoting the Jamboree.
