October Schedule

Category: Newslkelly @ 12:26 pm

Aside from our usual gigs at the Cellar in Blacksburg, we’ve got a few other great events on the October calendar.  We’ll be playing at the Floyd Country Store Friday night jamboree on September 28 to promote our October 6 dance at the store.  It’s been a while since we’ve done of those, but folks who have been following us for a couple of years will remember some of those great Saturday night dances at the Floyd store from summers past.  We’ll be moving some furniture to make an extra large dance floor for a full night of two-stepping, square dancing, and flatfooting with the Jugbusters.  We’re excited to be playing that dance again after our hiatus.

On October 5, we’ll be at Clark’s old-time music center in Raphine.  For anyone who hasn’t been there, Clark’s has one of the greatest dance halls in the area, and some great live old-time piano music during the set breaks.  It’s definitely a venue not to miss.

Finally, on October 13 we’ll be playing at the Woolwine October festival.  It’s a full day of old-time and bluegrass music, and we’ll once again be playing back-to-back with Larry Sigmon and Barbara Poole, so you can bet that there will be dancing.  We haven’t seen a schedule yet, but the music starts at 10:00am and there is plenty of food on hand, so don’t be afraid to make a day of it!

Jugbusters on YouTube

Well, I suppose it was only a matter of time before somebody captured us on film and posted it online:

That’s us outside the Floyd Country Store, with Phil sitting in on harmonica.

Big thanks to whomever posted it!
