Jugbusters at The Cellar Every Thursday!

Category: Newslkelly @ 3:51 pm

Thanks to everyone who has come out to support us at our recent shows.  Our gig with the LoCash Cowboys was an education — we’re currently working on getting tighter pants and shaking our hips more.  Saturday night with the Whitetop Mountain Band was also a great time.  It’s not often that we get to play a double-header with another great string band.  We danced during their set; they danced during ours.  No finer way to spend an evening.

Speaking of fine ways to spend an evening, by overwhelming demand the Jugbusters will now be appearing each and every Thursday night at the Cellar restaurant in Blacksburg.
The crowd at the Cellar have been our most dedicated hometown audience over the last year, and we’re happy to encourage that with a weekly gig.  I can say without reservation that it is the place to be on Thursday nights in Blacksburg.

Also, mark your calendars for our September 23 show at the Pine Tavern in Floyd.  Anyone who has been to the new pavilion will tell you that it’s the best outdoor dance floor in the area, and the food and drink are never in short supply.  We’ll see you in Floyd next weekend!

Further Into the Digital Age

Category: Newslkelly @ 10:43 am

Well, it’s been a full weekend for the Jugbusters.  While our gig at Rocky Mount got “rained out” despite the beautiful weather (never trust a weatherman!), our shows in Fincastle, Floyd, and Blacksburg were a blast.  It’s always fun to watch a seated crowd loosen up over the course of an evening.  They start out sitting and listening as if in class or something, and then a few brave souls start to dance and the chairs start moving backward, and by the end of the night the chairs are all pushed into the corners and the folks are only using them for a chance to catch their breath.  Good times.

For those of you particularly Internet-inclined, the Jugbusters now exist on MySpace:

So go ahead and make the Jugbusters your “friend”, put our music on your profile, and help spread the word.  Of course, we’d much rather be your “real” friend — which means come on out to the next show and introduce yourself.  We’ve got gigs this weekend in Cana, Floyd, and Woolwine: check out the schedule for the details.
