Gigs This Week

Filed under: News — lkelly @ 3:03 pm

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for us, and this week will be no different.  Blacksburg regulars: take note that we’re playing this Wednesday at the Cellar, instead of Thursday.  On Thursday we’ll be doing a private party at Mountain Lake, so we changed things up.  We’ll also be doing the Blacksburg square dance this Saturday night.  The caller will be Jaso Phillips (an old friend of ours), so it should be ridiculous fun.  Bring a friend and come out!

Jugbusters in the Studio

Filed under: News — lkelly @ 9:50 pm

We’ve just logged about 23 hours at Mountain Fever in Floyd, working on our new album.  We’re pretty excited with how things are shaping up, and hope to have it by early summer.  In the mean time, you can whet your appetite with some photos of us in the studio:

We’ve got gigs this month at Champ’s in Blacksburg and at the Brew Grass festival at Mountain Lake.  Check the schedule link to the right for details!

Jugbusters in 16 Blocks

Filed under: News — lkelly @ 9:55 am

16 Blocks magazine in Blacksburg is running a story about the Jugbusters this month.  The print edition also features a photo spread that includes some Jugbuster fashion tips.  (No, seriously — it does.)  If you haven’t already seen the magazine, stop through town and pick up a copy.  They’re doing some really good work in covering the Blacksburg arts and culture beat.

In other band news, our spring schedule is filling up as it does every year.  Aside from our usual Thursday nights at the Cellar, we’ve got a March 22 dance at the Floyd Country Store, an April 5 dance in Patrick Springs, and an April 26 gig at the first-ever Mountain Lake Brewgrass Festival.  Beer tasting and the Jugbusters on Mountain Lake — what could be better?  Watch this space for details.

We’ve also been spending time working out a lot of new material in preparation for recording our first album in three years.  Those of you who have been following our gigs at the Cellar have heard some of the new songs under construction; we’ll be in the studio in April to put them on wax (or its modern digital equivalent).  We’re hoping to have it off the presses by early summer; stay tuned, and keep dancing!
