For those of you not already in the loop: the Jugbusters will be appearing all three days at Floydfest 8: Revival.  We’ll be part of the Old Time Dance Revival, and we need YOU.  We need you to show up, we need you to have fun, we need you to do all of the flatfooting and two stepping that you can do in three days.  Floydfest never fails to be a good time for pretty much everybody, and we’d love for all of our regulars to join us in our first trip there.

Jugbusters will be at the Newport Jamboree happening this Saturday, May 16th at the Newport Rec. Center from 6-9pm. All ages are encouraged and welcome, $5 donation for adults. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Newport Volunteer Fire Dept. The show will feature The Jugbusters and Mountain Legend Express and we are hoping the weather cooperates so we can host the event outdoors.

Also, tune into WNRV (990 am, The Ridge) from 3-4pm to hear Bill Richardson playing the fiddle and promoting the Jamboree.

We’ve got a few notable gigs coming up during the month of May.  First off, the Brew Ridge festival on Saturday, May 9.  The event is up at Mountain Lake, goes from 1-5pm, and will feature tastings of local beer, meade, and cider by area breweries.  Other music includes Laura Beth and the Clover Hollow Boys and The Pickin’ Buds.  The Jugbusters should hit the stage from 3-5pm.

We’re also playing the Newport Jamboree at the old rec center in Newport on Saturday, May 18, at 6pm.  Mountain Legend Express will start the evening off with some bluegrass music.

Happy holidays, folks.  Hope the season finds you full of good cheer and good music.  2008 has been good to us.  The Jugbusters have been rolling on like we always do, playing gigs and promoting the new album.  Back by popular demand, we’ll be swinging New Year’s Eve at The Cellar in Blacksburg from 9:00pm until sometime in 2009.  We usually move a lot of tables for this one, so there’s plenty of room for dancing.  Come out, bring a friend, and drink and dance away the last of 2008.
